The Journey begins……

Well, never ever would I have imagined that I would have a studio one day, BUT my God is a big one and He saw fit to bless me with such an amazing talent that lead to my own studio. :) I am very fortunate to have friends and family that have been supporting me all through this journey. Thank you to my very loving and supportive husband. Thank you to my Mother for buying me my first camera. Thank you to my Krystan for encouraging me,praying for me and listening to me rant late at night. Thank you to all the rest of my friends and family that help make this possible. Oh and yea maybe this is brown nosing a bit, but thanks to my awesome clients who love me and love what I create for them.

About a year ago I photographed Beth and I told her during the shoot that we would be best of friends…life long friends was probably my exact words. Little did I know that God was intertwining are paths together and we would be right here at the start of something very new for both of us. See my Beth is an excellent baker and cake decorator. She is amazing at what she does and her cakes taste amazing too. I posted up a blog of her just the other day so you should go back and read it so you can see how fabulous she is! There is a man behind the madness that pushed us both to take this risk. He knows who he is and were praying he doesn’t go bald from all the stress we put on him. ;) If he does I can always fix that in photoshop.lol  He didn’t take no for an answer and he recognized an excellent opportunity for the odd couple (Beth and I) to share a space. I joke he is the brother I never wanted, but putting that aside he is my brother in Christ…thank you friend.

We never imagined all of the joking we did about being roomies one day that it would actually happen!  See Beth will be working in her macked out kitchen preparing all of her clients delicious cakes and I will be working on the other side shooting people.  I think cake and photographs go hand in hand. We will not be a team, but more roomies then anything. I hope you enjoy the big reveal. It’s not much, but we had fun. Excuse the messy yard….we just signed the lease so we have some work to do. ;)  Thanks to Tiffany of Tiffany Sims Photography for photographing this crazy war! Thank you to Crystal for doing are hair and making us look super hot. Go check out Beth’s site as well and stay tuned for updates!

Family Session Defuniak Springs Photographer

This family is sooo beautiful! I loved every minute I photographed them. I knew Katie a little bit from a few years back and I love how people from the past come around again. I even worked in the same building as her Mom and I remember her Mom bragging on her.

When you fall in love and get married..it’s the greatest thing. When out of your love comes a sweet little baby….you can’t even describe how you feel. I believe these photographs just scratch the surface of how much joy Mr. T  brings to his Mommy and Daddy. Enjoy. :)

Family Session Panama City Beach Florida

I love showing up to a portrait session with a large family and they give me those looks. You know…those looks like “I don’t know how your going to photograph all of us with these kids?!” type looks.lol I have a few tricks up my sleeve and I love a good challenge!  It was a blast hanging out with this tight knit group. It is so nice to see such a strong family bond. You could feel how much this family loved one another. I will admit that the dark clouds all around us had me nervous because the radar said it was clear of rain, but it’s Florida right?!lol I think the darks clouds made everything stand out and to me the beach was a perfect back drop for this fun family! I hope you enjoy taking a look at this beautiful family as much as I enjoyed photographing them.

Shelley and Bill….. Laurel Hill Florida

This wedding was so laid back and beautiful.  The ceremony took place in a pecan orchard and the reception was right in front of their home. I don’t know if you could have picked a better back drop for such a special day!  It’s funny how I got this wedding.  I had never met Shelley and I was already booked by her sister Tiffany my fellow photographer friend who second shoots with me! I expected Tiffany to take the reigns of this special event because she is super organized and she don’t play.lol When I met Shelley I couldn’t stop laughing because they are complete opposites! Tiffany is more reserved and Shelley is loud and crazy like me. I kept thinking to myself….”no wonder Tiffany likes me!” I wondered how Tiffany could even handle me sometimes, but little did I know Shelley has conditioned her for crazy people like me to come along in her life!lol

I love laid back weddings. Everything about this wedding was clean and simple. The beautiful arrangements on all of the tables were hand crafted by Shelley’s beautiful Mother and all of the ladies flowers as well. Shelley wore a beautiful dress with some pretty sweet cowgirl boots…would you expect anything less from a cowgirl? Her hair and make up were stunning along with all of her fabulous ladies in their very summery bright dresses. The colors and flowers really popped out in the beautiful green grass. The ceremony was very private and filled with love. The reception is where I don’t think Bill and Shelley sat down for more then 5 minutes! They have so many friends and family! I can’t tell you how  kind they both are and how much everyone cares for them. It truly was a wonderful celebration of two people coming together.

Well, enough about every little detail! Thank you to my friend Lily of Paddy and Lily Photography for second shooting with me!  Congrats to Shelley and Bill! Thank you for allowing me to photograph such a special day! I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them!

30 Moms…….

Hello! I know it’s been a long span between the last Moms post and this one. May has been such a busy month and that’s a wonderful thing, but I get behind on blog post. I have so many exciting things going on all at once that I can barely keep my head on straight! This next Mom is near and dear to my heart. I told you a lot of these ladies will be people I know because I couldn’t find all strangers.lol I have a few strangers coming up in the line up and funny thing is after I photographed them..we’re no longer strangers.lol I love meeting new Moms!

Just some things I have been thinking about lately…..If your a Mom out there that feels like you can’t ever accomplish a goal you may have set out long before your kids or you have this awesome talent you feel will never be noticed. Well, I can tell you from experience that you can do anything you set your mind too. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Having the title “Mother” is one of the greatest honors, but Moms still have goals and dreams to fulfill. Don’t count us out because we may have a baby on one hip and a toddler running around behind us acting crazy, but don’t underestimate us! We pretty much rock!

Beth blows my mind with her many talents. Not only is she an excellent cook, but she can bake some pretty awesome cakes! I have watched this woman go from making roses to sculpting cars! Like really? That’s a God given talent. What I love most about Beth…she knows that and lets everyone else know that she is extremely blessed. Gah! Love this woman to pieces. This is Beth making a cake for her friend…all of her love and time goes into everything she makes. This is my Beth…she is a beautiful woman and a wonderful Mother.
